restore deleted folder

Dear Guru

i'm using win 2k advance server and active directory. by mistake one user of my lan delete on folder in my server from his computer. i'm not able to locatew that file as its not in recycle bin for both server and user machine.

can you tell me where that deleted file is store and how to restore it.

When you delete a file on your disk, the file is not deleted permanently. Windows just "marks" it as free space, which can be overwritten by other files.

It's easy to recover deleted files with specialized software like Recuva (I haven't tried it yet), but it is possible your file has already been overwritten and is lost anyway.

Try using Recuva on the computer with the harddisk the file was deleted from, and you should be alright.
