Mr. Nobody
Remove Norton...forgive eme on my words but it's a crap antivirus, very slow and full of holes...Here in Europe almost nobody uses it...Download NOD 32+spybot S&D(CC cleaner is also good)...Also download Diskeeper and defragment your disc...If program persists, could be hard disc problem
Panarchy
nativeMay not be relevant to your set up, but I've just solved more or less the same problem on my puta by:1. getting rid of Norton AV & Firewall and replacing them with NOD32 & WXP's own Firewall2. upgrading my broadband deal to an 8mbps package3. disabling TrojanHunter security software that I had set actively "on guard" - instead running it only for scans. Something else I find very useful to see what was/is running on my PC, especially when I start up, to see how it might be affecting performance, is 'The Ultimate Troubleshooter' from heregood luckRemove all unnecessary startup items; Startup Inspector is a very useful tool for that. Use 'Consult' to get information on startup applications. Don't hesitate to ask here if you are unsure about disabling certain startup items. Also, use CCleaner to clean up your HD, and defragment it from time to time.No fair! :(I was going to mention NOD32 & CCleaner!:lol:Panarchy
