Upgrading my Graphics card

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wonder if it is worth upgrading my graphics card? I have an Nvidia geForce FX 5200 installed on my ASROCK K7S8X. 3.0 motherboard, AMD 2500 Barton CPU, have 2 Gb of RAM installed and basically I'm looking for a better performance from streaming pictures from the BBC Sport site when I'm viewing highlights through the week. The present display is rather small and when I blow it up to nearly full screen the results are very disappointing! It's still an AGP port I've got so is it worth looking for a better card, albeit it still in the budget range?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think upgrading your graphics card won't increase your streaming video capability. Streaming video is, for the most part, limited by internet connection speed. I think your system is plenty fast to process the information. Also, streaming video resolution is server side, so you can have the best system in the world, it's not going to look any better on full screen.

Thanks,

I'll save myself a few bob and not bother upgrading the card then!
