gorcq
My computer running Windows XP recently stopped making sounds of any kind. I first noticed this when I was playing music in Windows Media Player and it stopped. I thought it was a problem with WMP, but there are no system sounds now, either, and other audio players such as RealPlayer are silent as well.I have tested my speakers by connecting them to my MP3 player and they still work properly. I have checked all the volume settings I can find in Windows and none of them are muted. I have no other ideas about how to fix this, and it is incredibly annoying. Can anyone help? trackrat
Have you checked in device manager to see if there are any red or yellow marks next to the audio settings?.To access device manager---click start---right click My Computer---click Properties---click Hardware---click Device Manager. trackrat
Is the sound on an integrated chip or a PCI soundcard?.
