Dencandy
Hello mousa55. There's no simple answer to this question, but presumably you mean when you are connected to the Internet, not when someone sits down at your terminal and logs on. If your computer has being doing strange things it might be under some one else's control. Here's a simple precaution to reduce the possibility of this happening (I assume you are using Windows XP):1 Open Control Panel and double-click the Network Connections icon (if you use Category View, look under Network & Internet Connection).2 Right-click the icon(s) for your dial-up connection and choose Properties.3 On the Networking tab, ensure that 'File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks' and 'Client for Microsoft Networks' boxes are NOT ticked. Click on them if they are and this will untick them. Also get a proper Firewall such as Sygate, Comodo, Kerio, Zone Alarm who all produce perfectly adequate free firewall. The Windows Firewall only controls the inflow of information, not the outflow.Hope this is of some help to you.
