ambush Posted December 14, 2007 Report Share Posted December 14, 2007 Hi,I was cleaning up the startup programs using Autorun and I think I messed up something. now whenever I click on any microsoft programs like internet explorer, office Word, excel or powerpoint it shows preparing to install for few minutes and then program starts. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted December 15, 2007 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 Welcome to the Windows Forum.Autoruns is a very powerful tool, as it shows much more startup entries than msconfig or Startup Inspector. But it offers the same feature; you can uncheck the items you don't want to run at startup, and if you unchecked one by mistake, you can simply check it back on. Put them all back, an you should be running as before, then uncheck them one-by-one, to find out which one caused the problem.P.S. I hope you didn't delete the entries!
