LIP deutsch?

I recently bought a HP PC laptop in the UK but later realised it wasn't what i needed and have given it to my mum who lives in switzerland. she speaks only little english and i've been trying to change the windows system language but have only managed to change the keyboard and location. i found out about LIPs but there doesn't seem to be german one.

it's vista home premium. is there any way to change windows' display language from english to german?

I have Windows XP, so I cannot be certain about Vista, but all that I would do is to go to, START, CONTROL PANEL, REGIONAL & LANGUAGE OPTIONS, where I can select from the options those which are appropriate for me.

Also, this might help with vista....

i'm afraid i tried that. only lets me change the keyboard language and stuff, it doesn't really change the system language. i'm beginning to think i'd have to reinstall a german version of vista home premium. aaaah... i remember now why i bought a mac for myself...

I haven't tried Vista myself, so I cannot help you practically. However, I know that Vista is the first Microsoft OS that can actually change the language interface. So there is an option to change the language; you just have to find it.
