When I close my notebook (there is no action associated) and open it again, the display stays off. When I try press the control button manualy, nothing happens. I have to make it sleep and wake up again to force it turn on. I have got this problem only on Windows Vista (with all actualization (I tried SP1 RC1 with no effect)), on XP it works correctly. I have got the latest graphic driver and all essential updates available on hp.com.
