Missing Partition

You may have preformated your drive instead of adding a new partition. I assume one would usually want to be able to use all of his space. So the word "added" seems a little unlogical. What program were you using? Default one when installing windows or something like Partition Magic?

im using pclinuxos2007 and i had already installed it and was looking at partition info and seeing what i could do to maximize drive usage and formatted the partition at the very beginning thinking that the partition info was stored before that and that sector 0 was after the info

My suggestion would be if you can use PCLinux2007, is to use Gparted (or whatever partition manager you used) to find out exactly what partitions are showing up and post your question on this forum with that information as they are the specialists on this distro.
