ph03nix Posted January 31, 2008 Report Share Posted January 31, 2008 hi there!!!here's my problem....:i had windows xp prof installed on my desktop,and i decided to install a linux distribution.....so first i installed ubuntu,but i found it boring and i decided to install mandriva!!!!the problem started when i decided to install windows again:i firstly had problems when windows had to restart 4 1st time :my pc ''stucked'' on asus message!!!!i then reinstalled windows and i could boot my pc only by pressing f8(because i got a message:NTLDR IS MISSING .PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL) on boot......but theres an other problem:when i finally boot my pc it reads the 1st hard disk and from my second only 5gb from the total of 250!!!!FORGIVE ME IF MY ENGLISH IS NOT GOOD!IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME PLEASE REPLY! Seshomaru Samma Posted January 31, 2008 Report Share Posted January 31, 2008 about the missing NTLDR problem ,there could be various reasons, it happened to me twice, once because of a bad XP cd and once because a laptop had a harddisc protection layer which caused problem.here are some fixes i googled for youyour second problem could be because windows does not recognise the ext3 file systemtry to install this if that is the reason , you will probably need to boot from a linux live cd and format those partitions to FAT32 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ph03nix Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Share Posted February 3, 2008 well i used the software you told me and reinstalled linux!!!and now linux recognises both h.disks!....on the other hand windows don't recognise the h.disk that linux is installed!so, i would like to ask:is there a i way to delete windows,and reinstall them on linux on a virtuall machine?if yes wich virtual software should i use?
