Coreper Posted February 3, 2008 Report Share Posted February 3, 2008 i have a question concerning the nVidia Network Access Manager:how can i safely remove it?i already tried to remove it via the Add/Remove Programs panel, but if i do that, my internet stops working...i know i am one of the billion people asking how to do this, but i searched google and didnt found a proper solution...please help me out herethanks in advancebtw: a while ago i had another pc which also had the nNAM on it, but i managed to remove it safely there... i dont know how i did it though... Sirwriter Posted February 16, 2008 Report Share Posted February 16, 2008 Hi,It sounds to me as though you have the Nvidia NIC driver installed, so that if you try to delete the program you have no network, possibly no internet access either.There are several ways to go about it. Are you using a router? That will make a difference in how you go about deleting Nvidia and installing the Windows network driver(s).If you have no router, I would go to Control Panel, select system, click hardware, then device manager. Choose network adapters and find the one with the Nvidia driver installed. If you have more than one network adapter and one of those had a Windows driver, make sure that you check enable on it. Then go to the adapter that has the Nvidia driver on it. Click "disable" on that and ok.At this point, you may not have a network or internet access, but you can set one up easily with Windows Network Wizard. And at worse case, if you have no router, then you can set your computer up the way it was from your ISP before you networked or used a router.It's just a pain in the rear, but not at all undoable. If you lose internet access, just go to My Networks and recreate a network. Once you are safely networked again, and have internet access, you can go to Add/Remove programs on Control Panel and remove that Nvidia program. You'll have to use the Windows network wizard to add any other computers to your new net.Be sure to use different names, etc. You want to be totally different than the network with the Nvidia driver on it. Hope this helps. And remember, at worst case you can always go back and click enable on the Nvidia adapter.
