I have had a Logitec Harmony 855 for nearly 2 years and it is superb.

A tad expensive and it takes a while to programme it fully - but makes life so much easier. I have a TV, Virgin Cable box, Hi Fi, DVD recorder and Video recorder all set up on the Harmony so the menu choices are :-

Play Cable TV..................TV on set to HDMI Input, Cable box on and Hi Fi on.

Play Freeview TV.............TV on set to DTV input and Hi Fi on

Play DVD........................TV on set to input 2, DVD on and Hi Fi on

Play VHS Video................TV on set to input 3, Video recorder on, Hi Fi on

When you hit the Harmony Off button - all the items are switched off together.

My Hi Fi has various inputs - like radio, CD, Aux etc - but they are selected by toggling an "input" button. Hence, when the Harmony switches the Hi Fi on - it is set to the input last used.

The consequence is, if management uses the Hi Fi on its own to play music CD's and she fails to reset it to the Aux setting when she finishes - when we come to use the Harmony to switch on the TV etc the Hi Fi does not broadcast the TV sound. You have to manually use the Harmony help to index the Hi Fi input or the Hi Fi remote on its own. If you intend using the TV sound - this problem will not arise.

Thoroughly recommend it.
