Also Changing Hard Drive

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Like the previous poster, I'm also changing a hard drive in a very compact foot print computer which only has room and wiring for one single hard drive. I want to replace it with one with greater capacity, but I want a lot of the old programs and files on the current hard drive. This computer is an older Compaq, and has no OS disk. It does have a small partition which I can use to restore the OS as it was new, however I cannot figure the best way to transfer the programs and data I have on the old one. Also, since I can only get one drive in, not sure how I would use that restore partition unless I transferred it somehow.

I don't want to buy a new OS for it, it's old, and serves a couple of specific purposes. Anyone have an idea?

Dan
