But i am currently having a big nagging problem, i have a small site covering a large open warehouse, for current testing purposes looking at expansion later (long story!!!!). I currently use 3 different class C networks; 192.168.6.0 192.168.7.0 and finally 192.168.10.0. What i would like is to route these addresses through one main layer 3 switch (cisco), but i am just lost to what is the best solution. On a PC based router i know that all i do is bind all 3 networks to eth0 (eth0:0 and eth0:1) and i have seen that working. :( Has anybody got any ideas or help. I was looking at multicast routing, but i am just too unsure and i have lost my head somewhere in cisco ios book.ta. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
homecomputeraid Posted March 7, 2008 Report Share Posted March 7, 2008 If you use a Layer 3 capable Cisco Switch, you'll create Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN's) for each subnet, then route between them on the Cisco Switch. No external router will be needed.It isn't extremely difficult, but you may want to read up on Cisco devices.
