mHIFI Posted February 22, 2008 Report Share Posted February 22, 2008 Anyone know why files store in netware(novell 3.12) after winxp backup, the archive bit clear but when ms word(xp) modified the file, the archive did not set and winxp backup program miss it next time. The same file store in local c drive however don't have this problem. Try using notepad to modify the file store in network volume, it will set the archive bit correctly. It happens on files that store in my old novell 3.12 server. Those file store in local drive is ok. I did not realize this until wanted to get back one of the deleted file and found that all this time incremental backup did not backup at all because of the archive bit not set.
