loucks428
Yeah whats up guys, new to this forum but I'm just looking for this quick thing..My new vista(christmas) got infected with a trojan and a desktop hijacker about a month ago and it needs to go. I want to do a complete system restore but when I tried it it said it didn't have a backup file to go from so it wouldn't do it. The desktop hijacker is what pisses me off. I can't select anything from the start menu because it makes the start bar at the bottom disappear and the thing i selected(whether it's control panel or my computer, or pictures, nothing will open.) won't open.I'm looking for some insight to this problem. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum.Do you have any anti-virus and anti-spyware installed? Are they up-to-date with definitions? If so, run a full scan with both anti-virus and anty-spyware to find and remove any malware on your system.Alternatively, try a full online scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ - be sure to run v6.6 for Vista.P.S. System Restore may not recover you from malware infections; you will need a full backup for this.
