FormerMacUser
After trying Vista, I took a brief walk on the dark side (tried a MacBook Pro with Leopard) and I'm glad to say I'm back home to Windows XP. There were two simple features of Mac that I'd like to have on my XP. Can anyone help me?1. Whole screen zoom. With Mac, you can zoom the whole screen by holding CTRL and rolling the mouse wheel. The desktop becomes larger than the screen so you scroll around it in a cool (optional) way. Just moving the mouse scrolls the screen the other direction. Very nice once you are accustomed to it. To go back, you just hold CTRL and roll the mouse wheel the other way. What's nice is that you can't accidently shrink the screen too far. In Windows, within Internet Explorer there is a similar function but (1) it only function within IE, (2) scrolling the enlarged webpage is awkward and (3) you can overshoot and shrink the page too far. All in all, the Mac method is pretty slick. Anyone know of any options here?2. Volume control with mouse roller. With Mac, you can choose various functions with the USB mouse. I set it so I could control the volume when pushing and rolling the mouse wheel. Any options here? Here's one I found already:Mac Expose. This is a slick Mac feature. You can assign function to simply moving the cursor to a corner of the screen. TopDesk is a great Windows version of Expose (actually, I think it's better). I set it so when I run the cursor to a (actually multiple) corners of the screen, all windows shrink so that all can be fully seen on the desktop. Click one and it jumps to the front and all return to their previous size. Thanks for your help.
MANEMAN
One I have used before is *** VOLUMOUSE *** (Free !!!)Whole Screen zoom is a different story. There is software out there but it is very expensive, and whether it would work like the Mac I have no idea.Mark Russinovich wrote a program which is nothing like what you want, but there again I dont know what you would want to use this for. Once again it is free!!! You can find this *** HERE ***
