MetalFRO Posted March 7, 2008 Report Share Posted March 7, 2008 I have a workstation on my AD domain that is suddenly doing odd things. For one, I can't add AD printers from the directory list - I get the following error:"Unable to add the printer connection. Either the printer name was typed incorrectly, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server. Fore more information, click Help."If I attempt to add the printer via its UNC path (i.e. \\servername\printername) it will add, but when printing a Windows Test Page, I receive the following:"Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance? Operation could not be completed."To add to this, all of a sudden the PC started synchronizing Offline Files upon user logoff. That's not supposed to be happening, because I have a global domain policy that prohibits the use of Offline Files, and only allows it when specified in an OU. The user's OU inherits the default domain policy, so it's not overriding anything - there's nothing relating to Offline Files configured specifically in the OU.To top it off, the user has been getting several 1006 & 1030 USERENV errors in the Event log (Application) that appear more than just at startup. I've search EventID.net for a solution, but none of the things listed appear to apply to this issue. I believe that all of these issues are related, but I'm unsure how to tie them all together. What makes matters worse, is that this is a fairly new Windows load - I wiped/reloaded this PC 4-6 months ago due to Windows corruption, and other than this issue, the PC has been running great.I attempted basic stuff like DNS cache flush & re-register, removing & re-joining the domain, and forcing a GPO update to the PC to make sure policies were being inherited, but I suspect the USERENV issue trumps policy inheritance, so until I can figure out why that's happening, I'm probably out of luck.I'm at my wit's end w/ this - unsure of where to turn.
