gtolou
I don't know why, but for the last year my desktop has made a three-note error sound (sounds like a bell - but with three notes, up-down-up).I went to control-alt-delete (task manager) and on the performance graph - it spikes to 10% CPU usage every time this sound is made - it makes the sound every 10-11 seconds or so. I just turn down volume on computer to not hear it.Have watched movies/DVDs on computer lately. Only way I could find to stop it is - task manager, processes, and turning off explorer.exe.Anyway - I'm clueless.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum.Checking the Task Manager is a good start. However, I would look at the Processes tab - which process shows increased CPU usage when the sound occurs? Also, is your system free of malware - do you have firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware installed?
