Hello!

I am planning my multi-boot, but I want to boot all my partitons, or at least the bulk of them on my SATA Drive (500GB) instead of what it is currently on, my IDE Drive (400GB)

I am currently in the process of formatting the D:

The C: is my current one, and that data can not be lost.

I am running Windows Vista.

I am planning a multi-boot, installed in this order: XP, Vista, M-Word; (I won't say what it really is), Solaris then Linux (ubuntu, cause shift doesn't support 64-bit)

But before I start installing them, I want to make sure I can retain my current drive's files/folders.

Currently = Vista - IDE

I want= XP SATA - Vista SATA - M-Word SATA - Solaris SATA or IDE - Ubuntu SATA or IDE

Please tell me how I should go about doing this.

I don't mind buying a program like Partition Magic, but if GParted will do this all for me, well that would be best.

Please reply.

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy

PS: I may use FDisk to clear everything on my SATA drive, though I don't know if FDisk works on SATA drives... Cause I need to clear the mbr...

I don't know Gparted, but Partition Magic will do that nicely for you. Just make sure it keeps the same partition character, otherwise you won't be able to start it.

P.S. I have the last version of Partition Magic that was sold by PowerQuest. I don't know if PM is still safe to use now that it's symantecware.
