lafleur1977
Hello,Please can anyone tell me the method for extracting msi files so they can be installed on many computers over a windows domain. I think when you begin an installer, the msi file is put in a temp folder somewere on the hard drive, but Im not sure. Thanks.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Some programs, like WinZip, can extract contents from .exe files. Not all, however - some are created with different self-extracting algorithms. So it really depends on what program it is; for example Adobe Reader cannot be extracted, but Adobe offers the .msi installer on their FTP site. lafleur1977
Thanks for your reply. So if I couldn't get the msi file for a program, then what would be the best way of installing a program on more than one computer?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
It's rather difficult to talk theoretically; I would take the matter up with the software manufacturer / distributor.
