andsome
I am no expert, but the general opinion on here appears to be that you DO NOT use MS updates for hardware. You should have a look at the hardware manufacturers websites.

Windows downloads them automaticly but when I select "Install", it seems that they do install but then I get report, wich says:"These patches could not be installed" And shows every patches, so it means it didnt install a single patch... :( Last succesfuly installed patch is Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 patch, and after that next patch is security patch wich also failed, and all patches after that.so please I need help. I have legal windows xp.
andsome
Try UNTICKING the option to download the updates, and tick the option to be notified only. Even then I don't click on the yellow shield. I go to the Windows update page and download and install from there. :D

You should see the hexadecimal error codes beside each failed update; post them in your new thread.
