Hard Drive not found during Windows XP installation

Recommended Posts

O.K., here is the deal, I have a Windows XP Pro cd, that my cousin got from Microsoft, and I have a Windows XP Media Center Edition DVD that came with my computer. I want to take off Media Center, and put Pro on, But when I boot from the Pro cd, Expecting to delete the Media Center Partition, I get a message saying that there is no Hard Drive found, press f3 to quit setup.

I have read something online about legacy drives, but my BIOS does not seem to have anything to do with that. Under what section would legacy drives be under? Is that what I need to change?

THANKS! :D

You should be able to get the driver from the computer or motherboard manufacturer's website. There should be a section for driver downloads. Also, if the motherboard uses an Intel chipset, Intel will have the dirver; nvidia chipset, Nvidia will have it, etc.
