jmalakan
I do not know why but since last night there has a been a lock on my laptop. Every time i want to turn it on it asks me for a password but there is not one set. After hundreds of tries i tried pressing OK with the password space empty and it worked. When i go to the control panel to turn of the password there is no option to remove it, just to create one. It seems like my account (admin) has lost all privileges, it does not recognize any USB devices or SD cards. I am in dire need of help.....Thanks in advance to anyone who posts :)By the way, i am on windows XP media center edition, running on a HP laptop. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum.First question: have you made sure that your system is not infected with any malware? Run an online scan from http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ - click on the v6.6 link, as it is quicker and easier than the main 6.5 version. Scarecrow Man
Try creating a new account. It's not a good idea to use the Administrator account for every day use.
