W2K/SERVICES.exe

Recommended Posts

Just reloaded W2k and a heap of updates, SP3 SP4 SP4 v2 plus 65 more!

Seems clean now but unless firewall allows SERVICES.exe Internet Explorer will not appear ( nor Firefox when tried),

There were hundreds of Registry errors after reload, but no virus, adware nor highjack items.

SERVICES.exe repeatedly appears and if denied internet access seems to freeze until the next switchon when SERViCES.exe has to be allowed,

Any solutions please?

Services.exe is a part of Windows and manages the operation of starting and stopping services.

This process also deals with automatic starting of services during boot-up and stopping of services during shut-down.

It is needed for stable and secure running.

Boris, does it need permanent firewall clearance?
