Registry permissions and cmd line

Hello,

I need to fix the permissions on my registry so I can install CS3. It involves some cmd line. I have tried more than once and I can't seem to get it to work, but I have never been good at cmd line. When I open the cmd from run I see C:\Documents and Setting\etc and when I put the cmd in it says it doesn't recognize it.

So maybe, in lamen terms someone can guide me through this silly process. Here is the link of what I'm trying to do:

What steps have you successfully completed so far?

Once you have created and edited the reset.cmd file, you do not really need the command prompt; you can open Windows Explorer, then double-click on the file to execute it.

P.S. there is an error in the instructions listed in your link: the command in (5) is not cdcd, but just cd.

Hi Pat,

Yes, I have made the reset.cmd and it's in the proper folder.

Line 5 is what was messing me up cuz really didn't understand what it wanted me to do.

So all I have to do is double click on the reset.cmd. If we can do it that way why they ask you to manually add every line in the cmd line.

I ran it but I don't know if it worked.

It doesn't look like it worked (from your attached log file).

Have you actually put these 8 lines into the reset.cmd file? If so, you apparently typed them by hand (rather than use copy&paste); thus there are many errors in it.

P.S. you better do it the way the instructions say (use Command Prompt, rather than run it from Windows Explorer), so you can see the errors when they occur.
