Protomoto12
I did a new install/upgrade of a program and removed the old one. The problem is the new program can not access their program site after that. And that is similar to other programs I have. I can longer access their homesite through the program. Instead, everytime I try it, a window appears with opions of opening or saving footer.html and cntent.html and just kept on asking me to try inputing the address again. I did open and/or save or input, but no effect.I already deleted all browsing history and cookies. Still no effect. Please help, anyone. Dencandy
Sometime programme makers do not update their links properly. I suggest you go to the home page directly using a Search engine to find it and see if there's any help there. What's the name of the programme that you upgraded? Dencandy
Seems that for some reason your browser can't fully download from those sites. If you still have the new software as CD or an exe programme if you downloaded it, I would uninstall it then run the installation again. That sometimes cures these problem. If that doesn't work try using a different browser: if you're using Internet Explorer try Firefox & Opera - both are free downloads. If you're already using one of these, try the other two, etc. If none of these work there might be a problem with your firewall partly blocking them. If your using a third party firewall try disabling it and using the simple Windows Firewall.Another possibility is that your internet connection is too slow, or has too many interruptions, to make a consistent connection. You can search for NetMeter on the web, download it (its free) and see how continuous and fast your internet conection is.You should also check for viruses and malware. Trend Micro Housecall (here) is a tried and tested on-line scanner & will check you computer over the internet. If none of these solve your problem, then I've run out of suggestions to make.Oh, you could finally try system restore to a time before this happened. If you do this you may loose your icons for your new utilities & think you've uninstalled them, but you'll find them in Add or Remove Programs and just need to restore the shortcuts to the desktop.Try these suggestions in the order I've listed them above.
