ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Also have a look at this topic before attempting to install SP3 again.
Sbrideau
Well, as you will be guessing, this is not the only forum where I asked. I didn't use any of your methods, I used the following one :).I don't think updating your BIOS will have any effect at all, this stop code 0x0000007E related to SP3 seems to be pretty well known, do you have an AMD CPU?See this article on Assist-X, but here's the short version:It seems some manufacturers have used the same Windows image for both their Intel and AMD models, and have just disabled the intelppm.sys on the AMD ones. Apparently SP3 has sometimes been enabling that driver again, resulting in the BSOD.Boot into Safe mode, open regedit and go to the following keyHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Intelppm\StartChange the 'Start' value to 4, then reboot the system.Hopefully this will cure the problem. This actually worked, so I guess they didn't fully do their job at changing the windows setting to fit the AMD processor at the manufacture.Note: Assist-X is the website she and some of her friends and forumers started to help them help others.
