i recently purchased a new headset, the Logitech ClearChat Pro USB, with microphone [as on all headsets]

but i noticed that this headset makes windows play all not-windows media player audio to the headset

why? i dont know, do you?

and is there a way to fix this?

i already set all audio output to my soundcard, using the Control Panel... > didnt change anything...

Coreper,

try to set the audio output device from inside Windows Media Player. Since you are using a USB, you might need to set the devices manually. Also, I hope you have properly installed the drivers from the device.
