Mad Monk Posted June 25, 2008 Report Share Posted June 25, 2008 I did ask this question before, but was not provided with an clear reply.I had Zone Alarm Pro on my pc with Windows XP Home and it worked fine. I can not install it on my new pc despite asking for help from zone labs.They sent me two different exe files and neither can be installed Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it. After several e mail exchanges with the Zonelab tech, I am still no further. I even tried the trial version ZoneAlarm security suite without success. -pops- Posted June 25, 2008 Report Share Posted June 25, 2008 I can't answer your specific problem but, any software that gives me the run around like that gets immediately removed and an alternative installed in its place.The creators of the software have had more than enough time to get their program to work in all versions of Windows. ZA / ZAP 7.1 is for Vista, all earlier versions don't install or run on Vista.There are also some specific instructions on where / how to install it on Vista; did you receive any special installation instructions? While it is not the Zone alarm Pro that I have still a 8 month subscription update left on, I thought i try it. I got as far to install the program, but then when I clicked on it to open the program it stayed stuck on initializing (see pic). All is OK now like it was with my Windows XP Home.ps. there was no need to fiddle with the UAC or shutting down the Norton 360 security suite.
