Maximized Window offset on desktop

I am having a very strange problem that I have not seen before.

MS Word (may not be a Word issue) will not open correctly when maximized. When it is maximized it will open maximized in the bottom two-thirds of the screen. Everything about the window acts like it is maximized, it cannot be dragged, stretched, etc. When the button is clicked it goes to a partial window which can be dragged, stretched etc. When it is in this strange maximized state the bottom 1/3 is off the bottom part of the screen and cannot be seen or accessed for anything.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

If other program Windows will maximise OK, I cannot think that is is anything but a Word problem. Why not uninstall then reinstall Office? No doubt, others will correct me if I am wrong. Whenever I have had problems with any office program, I have tried repair options, but always find that a reinstall is the best option. :D
