Kayrocker Posted June 28, 2008 Report Share Posted June 28, 2008 I would like to replace my 7-year-old XP PC (upgraded software is really slowing it down). However, practically all of my co-workers hate Vista -- buggy and slow, well, I'm sure you've heard all the complaints. I've done some research on software and hardware that are vital to my business and some are not compatible with Vista.What I would like to do is buy a new PC and use my old XP disk to reformat and install (I have reformatted and reinstalled XP on my old one several times in the past).In other words, is there a possibility that a new computer's hardware could be geared/specialized/accelerated for only Vista? However, I personally have decided to skip Vista, and wait for the next Windows version.What I think is that almost all hardware makers will offer device drivers for XP for quite some time to come, so I don't think you will be left without XP drivers for your new computer; especially once you installed SP3.What I would do in your situation is look for a maker - like Dell - who still offers new computer models with XP preinstalled.
