GREAT_JUSTICE
ok, well i'm not extremely computer savvy when it comes to technical stuff, but i've used a computer most of my life, so ya.well im currently trying to learn japanese and i figure i should probably get an japanese IME. the problem is, i have windows XP, and i'm PRETTY SURE that it came with my computer, like... i never had to install it (i have a dell), so i don't have a disk.according to this i should be able to install the IME and 'files for East Asian languages' (not sure what that exactly is, but it says you need it' if i put the windows xp disk. which is where there is a problem. (i don't have one)so, is there any other way to get a japanese IME for my computer? is there a place to download it elsewhere? if so, where (links are great) and how do i do that? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum. You are right; the IME is already part of Windows XP. Where did you get your Windows system from - was it preinstalled on your PC? If so, you won't need the Windows disk to install the East Asian language support and the Japanese IME.If you use a non-US keyboard, there is an additional small registry change required. Let us know how it goes.
