Kuja Posted July 2, 2008 Report Share Posted July 2, 2008 On my pc I have two partitions: one of them Has Win XP installed, the other got Vista Ultimate installed just 24 hours ago.WMP have been working perfectly for seven months, since I got this new pc, on the XP partition, but yesterday somethingwent wrong: a few hours after I installed Vista on the other partition (yeah, I don't know if the problem is actually connected with the installation of Vista, and it's also kinda strange, because it is on another partition), WMP started to havea CPU use rate of 50 (when in the previous months it never went over a peak of 3), the graphic effect got slower and slowerand in certain moments even the music got in jerks. Could it be Vista's fault?edit: oh, the pc is pretty good (Dual Core 3.00 gHz, 2 GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 and so on...) and I also obviously tried to disinstall and reinstall WMP, but the problem persisted. Kuja Posted July 2, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 2, 2008 Also seems that neither having a format on Vista partition nor using Resetting System Cofiguration worked.Now I'm really out of ideas =( So the problem is not really related with Vista, or maybe that in some waythe installation of Vista actually altered something in XP partition, anyway nothing that can be fixed withResetting System Configuration tool (I'm not sure this is his name in american version, you know, I'mitalian, but it's the utility through which you can boot a previous system state).
