internet connection via lan, but why there is internet gateway?

Recommended Posts

internet connection via lan, but why there is internet gateway between my lan and internet? I just did a latest security update and my internet is not working, so I just uninstalled it. Any reason why internet gateway is there? I never setup an internet gateway. Just lan -> internet. What I have is lan -> internet gateway -> internet.

Welcome to the Windows Forum.

Not sure what your question is; if you have a LAN set up, then you have a gateway. You can query it with ipconfig /all (in a command prompt).

Regarding the network connection loss after yesterday's updates, this has to do with ZoneAlarm. See current status here http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/m...essage.id=34074
