gordythegouge
Hi,anyone had the same problem as me? Last week I noticed that windows had downloaded the latest upgrades to XP and allowed them to install on shutdown. Next time I booted up.......couldn't get on the Internet. I used my normal procedure ie connect on the old Speedtouch splashscreen and it went through the process of seeming to log on. IE7.....couldn't get on and Zonealarm was showing action as well. After messing about for half an hour, I decided to restore the system to just before the security updates had been installed. Result....back online no problem. Did a manual install of the updates again and lo and behold....no internet connection again. So...back to the restore option. I have disabled the automatic install on windows now, hardly an Ideal solution but i wondered if anyone else had experienced a similar problem and, what to do about it?Any help appreciatedGordy
