Hibernate

Hello, all

I have a bizarre problem with Hibernate. When I select Hibernate, my computer proceeds to Hibernate as it should. After about 5 minutes, the computer restarts without any intervention from me!! If I use Standby, that works perfectly, and I have no problems with a full shutdown and/or restart. It`s nothing major. I`m more curious than worried about it. But I would appreciate any thoughts on this one.

Kind regards to all.

Do you have a firewall or AV program, or indeed any other program that checks for updates? My Nod 32 security suite checks several times per day. :D

Yes I do have some automatically updating software. However, I did not have this problem when the automatically updating software was installed. It has all worked fine until a few weeks ago. I have also tried disabling automatic updating without effect.

what OS do you have and what service pack do you have installed???

I have Windows XP Home with SP2 installed. I have had this configuration for some time without any problem. I`ve not made any changes to the OS since I`ve had my computer. I have had my computer for 5 years Now(Sounds Ancient!!) I have upgraded the hardware over this time but this problem has started only recently, and is not related to any hardware changes I have made. So, I`m stumped!! My system is:

Intel Celeron 2.5GHz CPU

1Gb RAM

Nvidia Geforce 6200 Graphics card

80Gb HDD

160Gb HDD
