thatsgame1 Posted July 16, 2008 Report Share Posted July 16, 2008 Can anyone tell me what happens when the local administrator password on a PC Windows XP Pro/Windows 2000 Pro) is expired?From experience I know that you receive a prompt asking if you want to reset the password or not. Does this just pop-up forever or would you eventually be locked out of the local administrator account if the password wasn't reset?Is there any kind of official documentation about this out there? I've looked on TechNet but am not having much luck locating information. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted July 17, 2008 Report Share Posted July 17, 2008 Welcome to the Windows Forum.It is the same as every system that uses password expiration: you will not be able to login until you set a new password. (If the password expires while you are logged in, resetting the pw may be optional, but once you are logged off, you cannot login anymore until a new pw is set.)
