Yoram David Posted August 4, 2008 Report Share Posted August 4, 2008 Hello, Is there a way to stop programs from creating folders automatically when I run them?For instance, each time I run Windows Live messenger, it creates a shortcut to "My shared files" ans a folder "My received files". Some programs will allow you to choose whether to have that added or not, but most do not. This is not something you can block. Your only choice is to use different software. Some of these "things" can be configured via Options; others cannot.The only way you can stop a program from doing things that are not configurable is by stopping to use the program. I run Sandboxie for my web browsing, and it deletes everything (cookies, etc) when I close the browser. I've been able to keep my system much cleaner from spyware etc since using it.
