Derek Posted August 13, 2008 Report Share Posted August 13, 2008 Hello all.I recently bought a Dell OptiPlex off of ebay to replace my dead HP pavillion. It arrived today, I got it all set up, downloaded all the programs I wanted, and everything seemd to be working great.Then I leave it alone for half an hour. I come back, and it's off. Well, that's a bit odd, but not a big deal. I turn it on and try to log in with the user account I created. No dice. I try over and over but it doesn't work. So I log in with the old account name and password. What a surprise, it works. But none of my programs or documents are there. Darn.Well, once again, I change the name and password and all the settings I want. Before I went further, I restarted to make sure it would remember all of this. It didn't. Perhaps you can obtain a full list of all installed applications from Belarc Advisor.Another option would be to reformat your HD and reinstall Windows from scratch. Some businesses do have their some softwares installed which makes OS settings to default, so it will good, if you reinstall your PC with fresh installation.
