uberkane Posted August 16, 2008 Report Share Posted August 16, 2008 I bought a thinkpad laptop and wanted to install my good ol' XP in it but couldn't. The problem was the SATA HDD. uberkane Posted August 16, 2008 Author Report Share Posted August 16, 2008 i finally was able to figure it out myself! the problem was with the SATA as i knew before. The solution was to set the SATA driver to "compatibility" mode in your BIOS configuration before installation. This solves the problem. If in case ur comp does not have this option, then u can use a software called "nlite" to add the suitable SATA drivers into the Win XP installation CD (only for those who don't have floppy drive).
