How do I enable auto-login in XP Prof.?

Hey guys,

I'm the only person on my Compaq Presario Desktop with Windows XP Professional and I don't have a password to login, so I want my computer to automatically log-in as me on reboot.

I'm going to be using this computer for downloading and remote access, so upon a power failure, I want this computer to just automatically boot and log-in every time. I've handled everything else, I just can't find the setting to have me skip the welcome screen and automatically log-in.

Help!

Thanks,

- Keith

Click Start, click Run, and type control userpasswords2

Uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer" check box.

Click Apply.

Enter the user name and password you wish to automatically log on with, and then click OK.

Click OK again.

Beautiful! Thanks again Boris! I'm going to try the link you sent me about setting a new system folder soon.
