froggystyle
Hi, I wonder if someone can assist in this please.I have a laptop that is joined to my work domain, its running Xp Pro Sp3. When i use it at home i connect to my BT Homehub through wireless, it also has a VPN to connect into work. Every now and then at random when using it online it will struggle to load a web page, it will then try to connect to the vpn (asking for the password) if you click no it will not load the web page, if you click yes it will still not load the web page. I have also plugged it in to the Homehub via Ethernet and still get the same result so it cannot be the wireless. Not really sure what else to look at but did find the following error in event viewer...Event ID 5002Source NETw4x32IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection : Has determined that the adapter is not functioning properly.Which i guess would point to the wireless driver, but if i turn this off and use wired connection then i cant see why it would still do it?Any help would be great as i am pulling my hair out now. Many thanks
Scarecrow Man
My guess would be the VPN is causing the problem. Perhaps your work has a block or filter in place to disable internet browsing. Have you asked the IT department at work?

Have you asked the IT department at work?Hi thanks for the answer but i am the it dept at my work.... we have no blocks in place, internet usage is unrestricted. it only happens to my laptop and nobody elses. I am thinking its an issue within windows, maybe a clean install is going to be the best option as the laptop has always had little quirks since purchasing it new. Thanks anyway
ramon82
Trying using another browser such as Mozilla and Avant and see if problem remains the same. I once had a problem which was related to IE only and everything else was perfectly in order.
