I have not used my drives for some time now but just tried to access them with no success.

I have looked in device manager and see that there are yellow exclamation marks on them. I then looked in properties and it says (Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).

I have looked up code 39 and it says it is a registry fault, can someone please help me with this problem.

I am an oldy in the field of computers and will need a liittle bit of explanation as to what to do.

I am using Vista Home Premium and since the last time my drives were working I have only used the internet and downloaded all Vista updates.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Scarecrow Man and ramon82

Thanks for the replys, I have checked in the registry with regard to the code 39 error, upper and lower filters but could not find any problems there.

I have managed to get both my drives working now by trying the system restore in a few places untill I finally found a restore that was ok.

Thanks for the help and advice.

Regards Ian.
