Blindsided With Computer Slowdown

Recommended Posts

Before i begin, let me state my computer specs:

OS: Window's Vista Home Premium 32-bit (came with it)

Processor: Intel Core 2 Proccessor, 1.86 GHZ and 1.87 GHZ

RAM: 3.00 GB

Video Card: Nvidia GEforce 7300 GS (crappy card i know)

Internet Connection Type: Computer to Router to Internet

Problem:

Sluggish Gameplay after moving from where i start (aka, moving character from point a to b. whenever i stay still its fine) on Spore and Warhammer Online. This was not occuring 2 days ago which has me worried, before it was very smooth.

Thats pretty much it, but as you can tell it has me deeply concerned since this was not happening 2 days-a month ago

What I've done:

I have run multiple Virus/Adware scans, found nothing (nortan protection.. yes the program isnt that great but im cheap)

I have ran a windows memory disgnostic check, found nothing.

Checked task manager for any suspicious processes, everything is the value/type of process they should be.

Restarted quite a few times.

Checked for Videocard drivers, nothing.

Now im worried it is a hardware issue... which is strange because i havent even had this computer a year, let alone the RAM or video card as i bought them later on.

I thank anybody for reading this and spending their time on it. I will check on this later, and i know this site probably has more topic posters than replier's, so thank you for reading my topic.

Ack! Im so sorry for not coming back to check and update this. Thank you for your question, no. It's having problems with games that aren't even online.

Actually, it WAS having problems with games. I figured out what it was.. a few minutes after posting this, I had an idea and opened up my case ... felt the video card, the thing BURNT my finger it was so hot.

Aparently, my fan died in the card, causing it to overheat and to keep itself from exploding, I assume it was running at a lower effcientcy. as of right now i have a redneck rig :P no offense meant. I opened up the back panels on the computer for more airflow, and put a fan ment for a room behind it. running like it used to, although now its having driver issues so its possible i'll have to get a new one anyways.
