Multiple wireless USB adapters used to boost Internet speeds?

I've never delved too deeply into networking, so I have a question:

I have a PC which connects to a Linksys 2.4ghz wirless router. The signal is "Excellent" and the transfer rate is acceptable (usually around 150 download/70 upload). But this is cable internet. Is there something I should configure that I don't know about?

And, if I connect two wireless adapters to this PC, can I somehow merge/bridge their transfers to make one ultimate doubled connection?

Thanks in advance.
