Hi all

I would like to know if there is any application allowing you to export the contact details of outlook to an Excel file?

I use Outlook 2007 - this is how you do it with that version....

Select...

File

Import & Export

Export to a file

Choose Excel

Choose Contacts

etc

Ok using FILE>IMPORT/EXPORT from outlook works.

I now noticed that the ADDRESS field is not distributed in one line but on multiple lines in one cell. In fact now a letter in the form of a square is being printed to indicate that there is a multiple line entry. See http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/8264/newpicture222ol3.jpg for more detail.

Any idea how can I get rid of this?? cannot make it manually as addresses amount to over 3000 and I need to print them in a mail merge!!

Part way through the procedure I listed above you are given the opportunity to select "Map Custom Fields"

This opens a window with two panes.

Clear the right hand pane _select and delete

Then drag and drop each entry you wish to trasfer to the right pane.

Do not drag "Home address" or "Business address" because this will place all the address into one cell.

Instead separately drag

address line 1

Address line 2

Post code

City

Tel No

Email

etc

In whatever order you wish.

Problem solved. Exported from outlook to a CSV file and then created a DOC file with a mail merge. Data exported and printed successfully. Thanks for all your help :)
