Visionary Posted October 10, 2008 Report Share Posted October 10, 2008 Hey there,After some renovating in the house my mom's laptop is out of reach for any cable unless she sits in my room or basically any other room in the house but hers,she needs to work via the internet on a daily basis and over the wire her internet works. After a while we purchased one of those Wireless N external cards thatplug in the side and it worked GREAT(!!!) for one night then after a single restart the card still gets fabulous connection speed but fails to receive an IP addressfrom the router and can't manage to connect unless plugged in via wire... I have tried everything I know how to do, networking is NOT my thing and I am soclueless. I would really appreciate some help with this! homecomputeraid Posted October 13, 2008 Report Share Posted October 13, 2008 You may want to make sure the wireless you were using before you bought the external card is disabled if you haven't already done so.
