The message below is becoming common and breaks webmail connection mid-composition.

Can it be cured?

"IEXPLORE.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You wll need to restart the program An error log is being created."

This is on Windows 2000 professional SP4 plus updates

'fraid I don't have my W2K box any more. Try this...

Highlight the command in the quote box below with your mouse and press Ctrl+C on your keyboard

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

Then go to Start > Run > click the cursor into the Run box and press Ctrl+V > OK

Does Internet Explorer start with "Internet Explorer is currently running without add-ons" in the window?

If so, try using IE to see if you still get the problem.

OK, my last shot

Again, I can't check the menu options as I don't have IE6 any more.

Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or disable add-ons

The Show selection should be: 'Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer'

Write down and keep a note of the Add-ons that are listed

Now click on each one and, under 'Settings, select Disable

Disable each Add-on shown

Click OK and close Internet Explorer

Now re-start Internet Explorer... does it load any quicker and without any problems?
