change of resolution after lid closing

Hi!

I have such problem (which is very annoying):

I have IBM laptop, windows xp professional, ati, my usual resolution is 1400x1050.

Every single time I am closing the lid of my comp (the options is do nothing after closing the lid) the resolution is changing on 1024x768, which makes a huge mess with my icons.

It hppens every time I am shutting the lid, even when computer is going to standby and the lid have been closed before computer shut down.

Does anybody knows why it is happening? It is getting annoying form day to day! and I woud be really appreciated if somebody could help me with that!

Is the resolution you want a standard for your particular machine? I don't have a laptop but, none of my desktop machines will accept a screen resolution of 1400 x 1050.

Alternatively, when you change the resolution to the one you want, are you remembering to click on Apply to register the changes?

It is standard, my laptop has a monitor adapted to this, actually we have bought like 5 of the same laptops from the same merchandiser (they are used imported from us i am from poland), and only mine has such a problem.

i was thinking that my windows is just messing up, like power management but i have never heard about such things..

and i always use the apply button first.
